Featured Project: Cinderella
Cinderella is a film by Pia Derya and marks our first collaboration. Shot and produced in Australia, the film places music at the heart of its storytelling, with the score serving as a voice for the protagonist, Ali.
Inspired by both Turkish and Balkan musical traditions, the music draws from the expressive qualities of each without directly imitating either. It was an especially rewarding project, allowing me to write music that actively shapes the narrative.

About

Can (pronounced: Jon) Karacadagli is a composer whose work is driven by storytelling, blending orchestral writing with contemporary sonic textures. His scores are defined by emotional restraint and a narrative-first approach, creating music that enhances the dramatic experience without drawing attention away from it.
A Finalist for the Emerging Composers Award at the Apulia Soundtrack Awards and the Best Music Runner-Up at the Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge in Los Angeles, his credits include the short film Cinderella, the feature documentary The Specials, and the short film The Consultation, among others. Alongside his work as a composer, he has also contributed as a sound designer and re-recording mixer on a variety of productions, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between music, sound, and storytelling.
Karacadagli earned a Master of Fine Arts in Film Scoring from the Film Scoring Academy of Europe. Since then, he has continued his professional development through studies with internationally acclaimed composers and orchestrators, including Conrad Pope, Andy Hill, Jon Kull, and Mikolai Stroinski.
Based in San Diego, California, Karacadagli collaborates with filmmakers worldwide, creating emotionally driven scores that deepen character, atmosphere, and dramatic impact across film and interactive media.
